Ordinances and resolutions are official actions of Village Council that establish laws, set policy, authorize actions and guide the operation of the Village of Alexandria. Ordinances have the force of law in the Village and are used to enact or amend the Village Code. Resolutions are formal expressions of Village Council policy or intent and are used to authorize actions or support Village initiatives.
