​St. Albans-Alexandria merger commission granted year extension for research, writing ballot language

The merger commission, created to explore merging the governments of the 500-person village and the surrounding township of another 2,000 people, was supposed to be done with the ballot language by Aug. 7 this year, which would allow the residents to vote on the language in 2025. ​Johnstown, Alexandria and Granville formalize utility coalition in effort to manage growth and maintain rural character

At the same time, Southwest Licking Community Water and Sewer District – now with the new name of Licking Regional Water District – is moving ahead with a wastewater treatment plant just west of Granville along Rt. 161 in St. Albans Township and a new water tower a little farther west in Jersey Township. Join us for the Village of Alexandria Tree Lighting Ceremony on Friday, December 13! Get into the holiday spirit from 6:00p to 9:00p with festive music, hot cocoa, and good friends -- the tree will be lit up for the season at 7:00p . Come back downtown on the morning of Saturday, December 14 for the St. Albans Township Fire Department's Pancake Brunch and do some Christmas shopping at Happy Dog Farm Stand's outdoor holiday market.
