​St. Albans-Alexandria merger commission granted year extension for research, writing ballot language

The merger commission, created to explore merging the governments of the 500-person village and the surrounding township of another 2,000 people, was supposed to be done with the ballot language by Aug. 7 this year, which would allow the residents to vote on the language in 2025. At the same time, Southwest Licking Community Water and Sewer District – now with the new name of Licking Regional Water District – is moving ahead with a wastewater treatment plant just west of Granville along Rt. 161 in St. Albans Township and a new water tower a little farther west in Jersey Township.
